Admissions Period for 2025 is 11 July 2025 to 12 August 2025, closing date pending confirmation.
A child will not be refused admission on the basis of race, gender, ethnic or social origin, sexual orientation, disability, religion or language.

Grade 1

Remember grade 1 and 8 Admissions are done on-line.

Once your grade 1 child is accepted to Mulbarton Primary School you will be required to complete the Additional Learner Information Form 2025, for school purposes.

Grade R and Grade 2 – 7 (New Applications Process)

Kindly print and complete the respective application form. (See Forms)

Kindly bring the completed application form with the certified supporting documents to the school between 08h00 to 13h00 – Monday to Friday.
If all is in order a Ref. No. will be issued.

This in no way is an indication that your child has been accepted.

• If you DO NOT have the means to upload the supporting documents, you may drop off the document in the post box at the main gate, called Admissions or hand in directly in the office.

Grade R

Your child needs to be 5 years old turning 6 years in the year going to school OR 4 years old turning 5 years old before the 30th of June of the year going to school

Grade 1 and On-Line Admissions

Your child needs to be 6 years old turning 7 years in the year going to school OR 5 years old turning 6 years old before the 30th of June of the year going to school

Kindly take note of the on-line process:

• You need to apply on-line first using the following website – www.gdeadmissions.gov.za and using the following criteria:
  • Closest school to your place of residence
  • Have a sibling already in the school
  • Closest school to your place of work
  • Living within 30km of the school
  • Living beyond 30km of the school

  You will receive an on-line Reference/Application number for each of your applications.
  Please note: Priority is given as per the above order.

• Please apply to at least 3 schools and a maximum of 5 schools.
• Kindly remember to up load your certified documents to the GDE on-line system for grade 1 or Print and complete a copy of the Additional Learner Information Form from our website and drop off the form and originally certified documents in our Admissions Box at the front gate
• Kindly note you will need to drop off or up load the documents within 7 days of doing your on-line application. (Note: Late and incomplete submissions / documents, could cause your application to be unsuccessful)
• Please note that you will need to print and complete The Additional Learner Information Form once your child has been accepted at Mulbarton Primary School.
• The department will then advise in due course at which school your child has been accepted at.
• The following certified documents, not older than 3 months need to be supplied:
  • The child’s Unabridged Birth Certificate
  • Both Parents’ ID’s
  • Full Immunisation card – with the child’s name on it
  • Proof of Address –
    • Owner – Rates and Taxes
    • Renting – Valid Lease agreement with owners ID and Rates Taxes
    • Living with 3rd Party – 3rd party Affidavit, 3rd party ID, 3rd party Rates and Taxes and any document in parents name going to the given address.
